Potions. Lonely Frog? Quirky Alchemist.

You're a beginner alchemist, enthusiastic, a little eccentric, and utterly convinced that Ribbit, your beloved frog companion, is the last of his kind. When have you last left your shop to check? Who knows. But maybe you can turn someone into one? Run your shop, experiment, serve your customers, befriend them or not and inch toward the one recipe that changes everything. If you play your cards right, you might become the most influential person in the kingdom.

Do you really know what you're doing?

Do you really know what you're doing?

Answer: No. Not really. But you try your best. Every ingredient comes with a super very detailed description. You as the master alchemist should be able to tell what a combination does, right? If not, you can always send it to the Alchemists Guild but they take their sweet sweet time evaluating potions. If you are confident or cannot wait to test your new concoctions - just sell them. The customer will come back next day and tell you what happened anyways.

  • Unique ingredient combinations to explore
  • Unknown effects until tested
  • Combinations of 2 and 3 ingredients allowed
Meet Ribbit

Meet Ribbit

Small. Green. Extremely patient. Does not talk much (sadly). Ribbit is your companion, your confidant, and on a bad day, your test subject. Is every day a bad day? If you have to fulfill an order, the Alchemists Guild is behind schedule and you are in desperate need of a hint to what your new creation does - feed it to Ribbit! He might be a little frog but he sure is resilient. He will present you with a variety of responses that hopefully save the kingdom from the effects of your unchecked chaos.

Days for Business. Nights for Science.

By day, the shop is open and customers arrive with orders. You are in luck because they will give you some time to brew the potions. Accept them, refuse them, intentionally (or unintentionally) sabotage or charge double: your call. By night, the cauldron is yours. No customers, no pressure, just you, your ingredients, and whatever you've been meaning to try. By the way, a merchant will visit you in between.

  • Order-based daytime shop
  • Free experimentation after dark
  • No penalty for failure. Sometimes that's even the better choice

Mortimer

The Underworld

Mortimer

A rat in his mid-30s (or the equivalent of a rat-life), lived his entire life working for different criminal organizations in the city. What many would consider illegal and immoral, Mortimer sees as an average Tuesday. It’s a difficult life, but after recently taking over as the head for the biggest gang in the city Mortimer is desperate to step up. Doing good by his crew is everything to him, suddenly having so many people’s lives depending on him for survival is tough, but he is ready to do whatever it takes. As a new potion-making establishment has opened, Mortimer decides to try his luck with the new potion maker, since he has been banned from his usual establishments.

Karin

Royal Guards

Karin

Young, beautiful, proper. A bit naive? Karin and her guard force are here to save the day! The King’s day that is. Growing up within the castle walls meant being part of the guard was her destiny since childhood, having a mother as the captain does that to a girl. Now Karin is the vice-captain herself and she is ready to show the world that being second in command doesn’t mean second in skill! Sometimes it means second in social skills though, but she’s good looking so we’ll let ‘em off the hook.

N.P. Childe

The Merchant

N.P. Childe

There are a few important things to note about Nick. He is very reliable, knows his stuff, and probably works out every day to lift that backpack full of goodies. N.P. Childe & Co has access to almost anything, asks very few questions, and charges accordingly. Whether you’re running an honest shop or something more creative, the Merchant is always happy to facilitate. Professionally, of course. He is also a great father figure! To you, to your frog, to your mom? To your neighbour!? The main thing is he will gladly help with anything and everything.
